The act of the Workers’ Party (PT) this Wednesday (8), in Araraquara (SP), in memory of the 2nd anniversary of the attacks on the headquarters of the Three Powers on January 8, 2023, must be small and will not count even with a video message from the President of the Republic.
This is the city of the former mayor Edinho Silvawho is tipped to succeed federal deputy Hoffman blues in the national command of the PT.
Edinho has already been mayor of Araraquara four times, between 2001 and 2008 and between 2017 and 2024, but was unable to win his successor in the last municipal elections, in October last year.
Eliana Honain (PT) lost to Dr. Lapena (PL), candidate of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), by 45.16% to 49.18%.
According to the city’s PT leaders, the “Democracy Victory Day” event, held at the city’s Bank Workers’ Union, was organized hastily and will only be attended by left-wing parties and union leaders.
Edinho Silva himself will not attend because he is traveling. Even so, a video will be played of the former mayor reporting on the day he was at the president’s side Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT)during the invasions.
