The (PSOL) filed this Tuesday (7) a draft legislative decree to grant the title of honorary citizen of São Paulo to the actress, .
The text provides that the delivery of the title would take place in a formal session and that the expenses would be covered by the budget allocations of the São Paulo City Council.
In her justification, the councilor cites the actress’ trajectory and her literary career, with three books released.
“Among the highlights of its television portfolio, productions rooted in national culture stand out, such as the first televised sitcom in Brazil, ‘Os Normais’, which had 71 episodes, and the popular comedy series Tapas & Beijos, also produced and broadcast by the country’s main broadcaster”, he states.
The councilor cites the success of , which won the Golden Globe for Fernanda. “The success of ‘I’m Still Here’ was and is resounding, having reached, to date, the mark of 3.08 million viewers in Brazil alone, and around 40 nominations for national and international film awards”, he says. “Part of this success is due to the masterful performance of Fernanda Torres, described as ‘superb’ by Variety, a specialized international cinema publication.”
“By winning the trophy, Torres joined the select group of actresses who have already won the Golden Globe for work in drama films not spoken in English, now on the list.”
