Forget about dry elbows and knees. This ointment will provide relief in minutes

Dry skin on elbows and knees is a problem that often appears in winter. This is related to difficult weather conditions, such as frost and dry air. The skin in these places is thinner and devoid of sebaceous glandsand also exposed to constant friction. As a result, it often becomes rough, tight and may peel.

Health factors may also be the cause of dry skin on the elbowssuch as thyroid disorders, eczema or diabetes. Sometimes the cause is also a genetic predisposition or hormonal changes. Therefore, if the problem persists for a long time or increases despite the implementation of recommended care for these places, it is worth consulting a doctor.

We don’t always need expensive cosmetics to take care of our skin. Sometimes natural ingredients found in the kitchen are enough. Linseed, honey, avocado and olive oil perfectly moisturize, regenerate and protect dry elbow skin..

Linseed, lemon and olive oil mask

  • Prepare 4 tablespoons of ground linseed and pour half a glass of hot water over them.
  • After cooling down, add the juice of half a lemon, a tablespoon of honey, a tablespoon of olive oil and, optionally, a teaspoon of aloe gel.
  • Apply to the skin, cover with cling film and leave for 20 minutes.
  • Use 2-3 times a week to see improvement.

Avocado, yogurt and banana mask

  • Blend 1/4 of a ripe avocado with half a banana and a spoonful of natural yogurt.
  • Apply to elbows and knees, wrap in foil and leave for 20 minutes.
  • Use 3-4 times a week to make the skin soft and smooth.

Moisturizing ointment with coconut oil and Vaseline

The most effective and quick solution for dry elbows and knees is a homemade ointment. Thanks to the combination of Vaseline and coconut oil, the skin receives a solid dose of hydration and protection against drying out.

  • Dissolve 2 tablespoons of cosmetic Vaseline or and a tablespoon of coconut oil in a water bath.
  • After cooling slightly, add a few drops of vitamin E (available in pharmacies).
  • Mix and transfer to a small jar.

The finished ointment will have a creamy consistency and will be perfect for daily care. Just apply it to your elbows and knees before going to bed to enjoy soft and nourished skin in the morning.
