Mini carnival donuts are small, golden balls of happiness that spread quickly at every party. Delicate and fluffy on the inside, with a crispy skin on the outside, and covered in powdered sugar, they are a perfect sweet delicacy. Simple to prepare and at the same time full of flavor – these mini donuts disappear from the plate in the blink of an eye.
To make this recipe you need:
- 300 g of vanilla, thick homogenized cheese,
- 270 g of wheat flour,
- 2 eggs,
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder,
- ½ teaspoon of orange peel,
- 1 tablespoon of spirit,
- frying oil,
- powdered sugar for sprinkling.
1-2 hours before starting work, remove the cheese and eggs from the refrigerator to let them come to room temperature. Put the homogenized cheese into a bowl, add the eggs, pour in the spirit, add the orange peel and add the sifted flour mixed with baking powder. Mix the dough with a mixer or mix with a spoon. The dough will be thick and slightly sticky.
Heat the oil in a wide pot (5-7 cm high) until approx. 175°C. Wet your hands with oil and take small portions of dough. Form donuts the size of a walnut and immediately place them in the heated fat. Fry the donuts for about 5 minutes, turning them on each side so that they brown evenly. While frying, the donuts will rise slightly and acquire a proportional, round shape.
Fried mini carnival donuts place with a slotted spoon on a plate lined with a paper towel and leave to drain the fat. Sprinkle the still warm donuts with powdered sugar and serve. If you prefer treats with a delicious interior, fill the donuts with jam, chocolate cream or custard filling.
