How toxic are New Year’s resolutions actually for your mental health?

At what point does an intention actually become a burden? I’ve noticed that I often make resolutions that actually have nothing to do with my real needs. Instead, they just follow trends or what seems “socially right.” More exercise, eating healthy, less alcohol. A lot of rules right at the beginning of the year. Have you ever asked yourself whether your resolutions really come from the heart?
