Internet users used memes to comment the announcement of Meta creator, Mark Zuckerberg, that the company will end its fact-checking system and lift restrictions on publications on Facebook and Instagram.

This afternoon On Tuesday (Jan 7, 2025), Meta, responsible for Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp, declared that it will end the fact-checking system adopted in recent years, especially after the 2016 US elections.
According to Zuckerberg, current content verification and moderation policies “they went too far” and it would be necessary “restoring freedom of expression” no Facebook and no Instagram.
