The president’s government Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) this Wednesday (8) is holding a series of events in memory of the violent acts of January 8, 2023, which completes 2 years on this date.
The head of the Executive invited the presidents of the other Powers to increase the political weight of the events, but Rodrigo Pacheco (Senate), Arthur Lira (Chamber) and Luís Roberto Barroso (Federal Supreme Court) will not attend.
The event to remember the invasion and depredation of the headquarters of Power, in 2023, will be divided into four acts.
The first is at 9:30 am, in the Audience Room of Palácio do Planalto. The idea will be to reintegrate works of art that were vandalized in the coup attacks. They were delivered to the government headquarters after being restored.
The collection that will be re-presented includes the 17th century clock by Balthazar Martinot and André Boulle, a gift from the French Court to Dom João VI in 1808. The piece was restored in Switzerland. In addition to the clock, a Portuguese amphora (type of vase) in glazed ceramic.
The second act is scheduled to start at 10:30 am. The unveiling of the work As Mulatas, by Di Cavalcanti, will take place. Furthermore, students from the Heritage Education Project will deliver replicas they produced of the amphora and As Mulatas to the president.

For the event, the government invited the three heads of Power, but none will attend. With the absence of Pacheco and Barroso, the Senate will send vice-president Veneziano Vital do Rêgo (MDB-PB); the STF, vice-president Edson Fachin.
This will be the second year in a row that Lira will not participate in the celebrations of the date. Last year, the man from Alagoas, who would speak at the event, cited health problems in his family and stayed in Maceió (AL).
