Minho Line: circulation suspended between Darque and Valença due to "adverse weather conditions"

“Due to adverse weather conditions, railway traffic is temporarily suspended between Darque and Valença”, announced CP on social media.

The Minho railway line was cut this Wednesday between Darque, in the municipality of Viana do Castelo, and Valença, due to bad weather, revealed CP – Comboios de Portugal.

“Due to adverse weather conditions, railway traffic is temporarily suspended between Darque and Valença”, says CP on the social network Facebook, in a publication made at 10am.

Both Viana do Castelo and Porto and Braga were placed under orange warning between 6am and 9am this Wednesday due to heavy precipitation and wind gusts that can reach 100 kilometers per hour (km/h) in high areas.

The districts of Vila Real, Bragança, Viseu, Guarda, Castelo Branco, Portalegre, Santarém and Évora will remain under yellow warning due to precipitation until 6:00 pm.

The coastal districts of Aveiro, Coimbra, Leiria, Lisbon, Setúbal, Beja and Faro are under yellow warning until Thursday at 6pm due to sea unrest, in addition to the yellow warning for precipitation until Wednesday.

Porto, Braga and Viana do Castelo will remain under yellow warning for maritime unrest until Thursday.

Southwest waves can reach four to five meters on the west coast, gradually changing to west/northwest waves from the afternoon of the 8th.
