Agents from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Missouri, carried out an unusual rescue last Friday, January 3rd. A spider monkey, dressed in a tutu, was found after escaping from its keeper’s home.
The alert was given by residents, who reported an “individual doing monkey things”. At the scene, the agents discovered that the “suspect” was a monkey only dressed in a tutu.
“After careful negotiations and some persuasion, we managed to control the situation without incident,” joked the authority in a Facebook post.
The monkey, which managed to escape by opening a door, was rescued safely and returned to its keeper. Despite the humorous tone, the sheriff’s office highlighted that the episode reflects the unpredictability of police work, requiring preparation to deal with all types of situations.
