Portimonense reinforces its squad with Keffel, Heitor and Juan Alegría for the second round of the II League

This Wednesday, Portimonense presented Brazilian full-backs Keffel and Heitor and Colombian forward Juan Alegría, three reinforcements to ‘attack’ the second round of the II Football League.

Left-back Keffel, aged 25, returns to Portuguese football, where he had already represented Trofense and Torreense, between 2020 and 2024, and will play in the Algarve until the end of this season on loan from Paysandu (Brazil), with an option to buy.

“What made me return to Portugal was this ambitious project by Portimonense. It’s a championship that I know well and I’m already well adapted to”, said, at a press conference, the player trained at Atlético Mineiro, who also played for Figueirense, São Caetano and Retrô FC, all in his home country.

Right-back Heitor, 24, signed for a season and a half with the Algarve and will have his second experience in European football, after his time at Cercle Brugge, in Belgium.

“I’m very happy to be here, I’ve always wanted to play in Portugal. It’s one of the best structures I’ve ever had in my career and I hope to help Portimonense achieve its goals”, said the defender, trained at Internacional de Porto Alegre and who also has stints at Ferroviária, Mirassol and Guarani.

Colombian striker Juan Alegría, 22, from Guangzhou FC, who scored 18 goals in 26 games in China’s second division last year, has signed a contract with the club until 2027.

“I already knew the club through Jackson [Martínez] have played here. The references I have from Portuguese football are very good. I can promise a lot of work to help the club, which will bring goals”, said the striker, who has played for FC Honka (Finland), Rangers, Partick Thistle and Falkirk (Scotland), and Jaguares de Córdoba (Colombia).

On the other hand, Portimonense and midfielder Paulo Estrela, 25 years old, who had been at the club since 2019 and only played two games this season, agreed to terminate his contract.

After 17 rounds in the II League, Portimonense remains in 15th place, with 17 points in 16 games, completing the delayed match of the 16th round next Sunday, at FC Porto B, 17th, with 13.
