Did you know that orange peels and vinegar together can form a tandem, which for many housewives becomes an indispensable helper for a clean and fragrant household?
Just when you peel oranges, a pleasant, energetic aroma wafts through the whole house. And if you don’t throw away the orange peels and make a homemade cleaning product from them, you’ll realize many times over that you’re doing something good. The following procedure is a purely natural way, without unnecessary waste, and the resulting product not only smells beautiful, but also absorbs odors. Here we go.
The procedure is simple and ecological
Simply stack the orange peels in a mason jar and cover them all with vinegar. Vinegar itself has the ability to dissolve limescale, remove dirt, dust and grease.
You can use the ordinary fermented one, but also the apple one, which is not so strong and therefore the smell will disappear sooner.
Close the container and store it in a dark place for at least 3 weeks, perhaps among other preserves. Basically, the longer you leave the vinegar on the skins, the more vinegar will be lost. Over time, you can watch the bark absorb and swell.

It’s not a bad idea to let your imagination run wild and experiment a little, so you can add exotic spices such as cinnamon, vanilla or star anise to the solution, or you can add herbs, such as rosemary, instead of spices. Essential oil lovers, feel free to add your favorite. It just depends on you.
Vodka will add disinfecting power
After 3 weeks, drain the contents through a strainer, the more careful can use a coffee filter, which does not pass even small particles of orange peel. At the end, we recommend adding a little unsweetened alcohol, such as plum wine or vodka, which promotes the disinfecting effect.
Pour the liquid into the hand sprayer and the fragrant cleaning helper is ready. In addition, it lasts for many months, costs almost nothing and smells good in the whole apartment. Beautifully cleans the kitchen worktop, the surface of wooden furniture, faucets and lino. Just don’t use a solution with an essential oil admixture on upholstered furniture, the greasy oil would cause stains.
