Ann Altman alleges she was raped by her brother from ages 3 to 11 or 12, since the billionaire and CEO of OpenAI was 12. Family attributes complaint to “mental health problems” and financial interests.
The billionaire and CEO of the technology company OpenAI, Sam Altmanreleased this Wednesday in a statement — signed by himself, his mother and two brothers — denying the accusations made by his sister, Ann Altman, who sued him, claiming to have been a victim of sexual abuse on several occasions between 1997 and 2006.
In the complaint filed on Monday, Ann claims that the abuse occurred at the family home in Clayton, in the US state of Missouri, and that it began when I was 3 and Sam 12 years old.
Currently 30 years old, the sister of the creator of ChatGPT says she was raped, sexually harassed, molested and sodomized until she was 11 or 12 years old.
“All these allegations are absolutely false“, replied Sam Altman, 39, in a statement on X.
Altman and family members attribute the complaint to “mental health problems” of Ann and suggest that she acted motivated by financial interests.
“Our family loves Annie and is very concerned about her well-being. Caring for a family member who faces mental health challenges is incredibly difficult,” they say.
“We directly pay her bills, cover her rent, help her find job opportunities, try to seek medical help,” the note says. “Despite this, Annie continues to demand more money from us […] and has made deeply hurtful and completely false accusations about our family, especially Sam.”

In her complaint against her brother, Ann asked for a compensation of at least 75 thousand dollars for damages that include post-traumatic stress, intense emotional distress, anguish and depression.
The family claims that, in the past, Ann accused them of withholding the patriarch’s assets, pirating his Wi-Fi and censoring the reach of his publications on X, and that her brother was not the only one who accused him of sexual abuse.
“It is especially heartbreaking when she refuses treatment and lashes out at family members who are genuinely trying to help,” the family said in the statement, which ends with a plea for “understanding and compassion” from the public “as we continue to support Annie in the best possible way.” the way we achieved it.”
Contacted by the agency, the defense of Ann didn’t respond to the family’s statements or the complaint filed.
