Agriculture in the Algarve is changing, following the sector’s evolution towards greater sustainability and balance between productivity and biodiversity. To promote this transformation, the Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR), IP – Agriculture and Fisheries, in partnership with the National Rural Network and the region’s agri-food sector, launched a campaign of short videos that present success stories of investments supported by community funds.
These stories, narrated in the first person, highlight companies from different production areas and locations in the Algarve that have in common a commitment to innovation, the incorporation of technology and the sustainable management of natural resources.
These examples reflect adaptation to climate change and the focus on greater competitiveness, contributing to the diversification of the regional economic base and the balanced development of rural communities, while also promoting the creation and maintenance of decent jobs.
The videos will be published weekly on social media and digital platforms. The first success story presented is that of SR Berry, a brand founded in 2013 that has become a reference in sustainable agriculture, specializing in the production of small red fruits in hydroponics.
