US soldier Matthew Livelsberger, who was killed in a Tesla Cybertruck explosion outside Donald Trump’s Las Vegas hotel on New Year’s Day, used the generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI) tool ChatGPT to plan the attack, Las Vegas police said Wednesday night. TASR informs based on the report of the AP agency.

An analysis of the searches on ChatGPT revealed that Livelsberger was looking for information about explosive targets, the speed of movement of different types of ammunition, as well as whether fireworks are allowed in Arizona, according to police.

The new information was released nearly a week after the car explosion that killed Livelsberger. The man received numerous awards for his service in the special unit of the Green Berets, completed two army tours in Afghanistan and apparently suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder, AP writes.

Before his death, he left a note in which he called the explosion a “wake-up call” and shot himself before the car exploded, AP adds.

Investigators said the soldier had no hatred for President-elect Donald Trump, but that in one of the messages he called for the country to shut down around Trump and billionaire Elon Musk, AP writes.
