In almost the entire territory of Slovakia, you have to be careful of fog and ice. In the north of the country, there is also wind on the mountains. The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ) drew attention to this on its website and issued first level warnings.

The SHMÚ drew attention to the fog in all regions except the Bratislava region. Freezing occurs in all districts, while warnings are provisionally valid until 9:00 a.m. As experts warn, ice formation is a potential hazard for human activities. “The risk groups of the population include a wide range of the population, especially people with reduced mobility,” they added.

In some districts of northern and central Slovakia, wind is expected temporarily above the forest zone, which reaches a short-term (in bumps) speed of up to 135 km/h and an average speed of 85 km/h. “The expected wind speed is normal for the given time of year and area, but it represents a potential danger for human activities,” explained SHMÚ.
