US President Joe Biden will introduce new sanctions against Russia this week that will target its economy. The United States is the largest provider of military aid to Ukraine. Earlier this week, the agency reported – citing three unnamed officials – that the US is planning further sanctions aimed at Russia’s oil revenues, which help finance its mining in Ukraine.
One of the sources cited said the sanctions would target two Russian oil companies, more than 100 tankers, oil traders and Russian insurance companies. He did not say what specific subjects it would be.
