A small aircraft crashed on Thursday morning (Jan 9), on Cruzeiro beach; pilot died at the scene
O (Aeronautical Accident Research and Prevention Center) will investigate the causes of the explosion of a small plane that on Cruzeiro beach, in Ubatuba (SP), this Thursday morning (9.Jan.2025). The investigators were called by the regional arm of the agency.
“The conclusion of this investigation will take as short a time as possible, always depending on the complexity of the occurrence and, also, the need to discover possible contributing factors”said Cenipa.
According to the municipality, there were 5 people on the aircraft (3 adults and two children). The pilot died. There are also 3 other people who were at a skate park close to where they were hit.
In total, 5 victims were taken to Santa Casa. According to the city hall, there is 1 adult in serious condition and a child under monitoring, “potentially serious”.

According to Rede VOA, which manages Ubatuba airport, the aircraft left Mineiros Municipal Airport, in Goiás, and attempted to land in the municipality. However, the “weather conditions were degraded, with rain and a wet road”and the plane “overtook the track and crossed the fence at Cabeceira 09”.
The vehicle is an aircraft with registration PR-GFS, model 525, manufactured by the company Cessna Aircraft. It is owned by the family of rural producer Nelvo Frias, from Goiás.
