The Vice President of the Republic, Geraldo Alckmin, stated that Brazil will “rigorously” comply with the fiscal framework. In an interview with Rádio Eldorado this Thursday (9) he said that the country will grow economically this year, but cited concern about the interest rate.
“I believe that Brazil will grow. In fact, it already grew in the year ending 2024”, he commented, citing unemployment rates and developments in the industrial sector.
“We had a good year. And next year 2025? Next year, what’s the concern? The interest. Because the interest rate really slows down the economy a little”, stated the vice-president, who is also minister of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services.
Even with such concern, the vice president was optimistic and said that, in 2025, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Brazilian agribusiness should grow by more than 4%. “That helps a lot,” he commented. “We will work harder, but Brazil will grow”, he reinforced.
