On Thursday, firemen intervened on the Danube river near a cargo ship, into which water was flowing due to a hole in the front part of the ship. They managed to anchor the ship in the harbor. TASR was confirmed by the spokesman of the Regional Directorate of the Fire and Rescue Service in Bratislava, Štefan Koči. The portal noviny.sk drew attention to the case.

“Members of the Fire and Rescue Service were called today at approximately 1:00 p.m. to a cargo ship on the Danube River into which water was flowing due to a hole in the front part of the ship,” the spokesman said. The responding firefighters used pumps to pump water from the ship back into the Danube and escorted it to the port where it was anchored.
