Fernanda Torres shows fire in Los Angeles that forces artists to leave their homes

Fernanda Torres shared on social media this Wednesday (8) a photo showing the city of Los Angeles in the midst of the forest fire that is raging in the state of California.

The actress is in the city to promote the film “I’m Still Here”, which is competing for nominations at the next Oscars. Walter Salles’ film had a screening with the artist’s presence canceled due to the fires.

“From my window, I see Los Angeles in flames [em chamas]”, wrote Torres in an Instagram post, where he posted two photos that show the city’s red sky in the distance.

Three regions of Los Angeles went up in flames this Tuesday (7), in fires that spread quickly due to strong winds, leaving a trail of destruction to thousands of homes and structures. Local police confirmed at least two deaths, but did not provide details.

More than 30,000 people were warned to leave their homes in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood, a community at the foot of the Santa Monica Mountains, close to the coast. A forest fire had started in the morning and, at 6:30 pm, it had already burned an area of ​​almost 12 km2.

All the main events in the city, which is experiencing the beginning of the cinema awards season, were postponed on Tuesday night, such as the cinema screening of the film “I’m Still Here”, which would end with a conversation between Torres, Salles and the Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro.

Del Toro was one of several film and television artists in the region who left their homes to protect themselves from the fire. Ben Affleck was seen leaving his home in the region, finding refuge in the home of actress Jennifer Garner, his ex-wife.

In addition to him, Mark Hamill and his wife, Marilou York, had to leave their home and take shelter in their daughter Chelsea’s house, while actress Jamie Lee Curtis lamented the situation in a post on her Instagram and shared with her followers the possibility of having the his residence destroyed by the fires.

Chris Pratt, in turn, made a post in honor of the firefighters, and Billie Eilish shared a link, on her social networks, to a Los Angeles Fire Department page that provides updates on the fires in the region.
