Anderson Cooper, from CNNis in Altadena as wildfires continue to burn Southern California.
“In Altadena,” said Cooper, positioned in front of a burning house.
“Look at all these embers. All these embers in the trees. Now they are going through the air; now they’re flying around the block to several houses that haven’t burned yet.”
In addition to flames and embers, Cooper said there were several explosions in the area.
An explosion can be seen from a house behind the reporter, followed by a cloud of thick, dark smoke.
A team of firefighters was in the area earlier in the day, he added.
“They had to just leave. They did what they could. They tried to remove any undergrowth they could,” he continued.
