A 28-year-old man was arrested this Wednesday (8) by the Special Border Group (Gefron) during a routine approach at a police checkpoint in Senador Guiomard, about 30 km from Rio Branco, in Acre. He was carrying around a kilogram of cocaine hydrochloride hidden inside a colostomy bag.
According to police chief Rêmulo Diniz, the suspect was a passenger in a taxi that came from Epitaciolândia and was stopped for inspection. During the approach, the police noticed that the man, already known for having a criminal record related to drug trafficking, was showing nervousness.
The agents were suspicious of the abnormal volume in the colostomy bag that the suspect was using. After a thorough search, the drug was found hidden in the accessory.
As a result of the incident, the man was arrested and taken to the police station to give a statement. It will be submitted to legal procedures and will remain at the disposal of the Court.
The operation reinforces the actions to combat drug trafficking carried out by Gefron in the border regions of Acre.
