Liverpool and Tottenham are facing each other this Wednesday (08/01), in the English League Cup, at Anfield. The match was stopped for around ten minutes due to the call for Tottenham midfielder Bentancur.

What happened to Bentancur?
Bentancur was injured five minutes into the first half. After a corner kick, the midfielder tried to head the ball, but fell awkwardly, hit his head and ended up fainting on the field. Quickly, doctors were called.
The Uruguayan was treated for around ten minutes before being taken away on a stretcher.

At 6:05 pm (Brasília time), Tottenham reported that the player was conscious.
We can confirm that Rodrigo Bentancur is conscious, speaking and will go to the hospital for further tests.

Who is Bentancur?
Bentancur is 27 years old and began his career at Boca Juniors in 2015. He stood out in the Argentine team and was bought by Juventus, from Italy. At Velha Senhora, he played from 2017 to 2021, winning his third Italian championship, in addition to his second Super Cup and Italian Cup titles. In 2022, he arrived at Tottenham, where he is to date.
He is one of Uruguay’s main players, being a starter in the team led by Marcelo Bielsa. He competed in the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
