New reaction to Donald Trump’s most media-driven idea of recent times; this was about the proposed name change of the Gulf of Mexico.
Donald Trump wants to change several things in several countries. Do you want to interfere in Canada, already Greenland, no Panama Canal and no Gulf of Mexico.
The US president-elect suggested annexing the Panama Canal and Greenland, “by force if necessary”. Or even integrate Canada into US territory – here through economic force, not military force.
Several senior officials from the territories in question have already distanced themselves from these scenarios. Greenland is “not for sale”, Canada will “never” be part of the USA and the sovereignty of the Panama Canal is “non-negotiable”.

The Gulf of Mexico runs from Florida to Cancún, connecting North America to Central America. It passes through territories of USA, Mexico and Cuba – the three countries control the respective coastal areas of the gulf.
The president of Mexico also reacted to this intention of the future US leader. But with another tone.
