Despite having told , that it will be renamed “Brazilian”, the party’s name change is not yet guaranteed.
So far, there has been no formal request from the party to be renamed to the (TSE), which must approve the change.
The court does not always accept these requests. A recent example was the attempt by the PMB (Brazilian Women’s Party) to change to Por Mais Brasil, which was vetoed.
In a note, the PRTB stated that it has not yet made the formal request due to the recess of the Judiciary. “As soon as the recess ends, we will make a formal request to change the party’s name to ‘Brazilian’,” he stated.
