The number of vacancies offered in public competitions in 2025 should surpass 100,000 vacancies in the civil serviceaccording to a survey by the Public Competitions and Exams Support Association (Aconexa).
Only at the federal level, 57 thousand vacancies are provided for in , with the possibility of creating 5,952 more positionsaccording to the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services.
Among the areas highlighted this year are public security, fiscal, judicial and education.
Marco Antonio Araujo Jr., president of Conexa, said that the trend is for competition models such as the Unified National Public Competition (CNU) to be consolidated.
“Unified competitions have proven to be an efficient solution to increase competition and reduce costs, both for candidates and the government”, he explains.
The Association points out that in the sense of greater supply and access to opportunities in the selection of future public servants, unified competitions, such as the CNU, apply these opportunities.
to compete for more than 6,600 vacancies in various areas of the federal public service.
The intention is, but the decision will be made after the conclusion of the last stage of the first competition held this year.
At the state level, the scenario is also positive for those who intend to take a public exam.
According to Araújo, historically, the biggest state competitions tend to take place before the election year.
“Considering that elections for the state Executive will take place in the second half of 2026, there is a great possibility that vacancies for public security, education and health will be brought forward to 2025, even to positively impact voters, which could result in a flood of notices in these areas”, says Araujo.

Public Security
The Federal Police should open more than 1,800 vacancies for positions such as Agent and Delegate, with starting salaries of up to R$25,825.08.
The Federal Highway Police is requesting 5,125 vacancies, with salaries reaching R$10,790.87.
Fiscal
States such as São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Tocantins are already moving to open vacancies in Finance departments, with salaries that can exceed R$35 thousand.
Legal
Several Courts of Justice, such as those in Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais, and Regional Labor Courts (TRT) have competitions in planning, covering Technician and Analyst positions.
Education
The “Enem dos Professores”, a project by the Ministry of Education to carry out a large unified test, along the lines of the CNU, can facilitate hiring for state and municipal public networks, benefiting thousands of educators across the country.
The expectation is that the notice will be published in the first half of 2025, with tests administered in the second half of the year.
