Allies of the former president () reacted this Wednesday (8) to the president’s statement (), understanding that mistresses are often more loved than wives.
The statement was made during a speech at one of the events in relation to the coup acts of January 8, 2023 scheduled for this Wednesday.
The (PL-MG) told the column that “the mouth speaks of what the heart is full”, when commenting on Lula’s statement.
Bolsonaro commented on his social networks that the family is the basis of society.
“I’m in love with my wife, and certainly the vast majority of husbands,” said the former president.
While in office, Bolsonaro was also criticized for sexist jokes, such as when he stated that he was “a kiss, a rose, a gift, a vacation.”
Lula’s statement was also the target of comments from federal deputies (União-SP), who classified the speech as sexist, and (PL-SP).
“This is the pattern of the left, political events that become a scenario of decline and embarrassment. It’s crazy to hear this from a president,” said the parliamentarian, who due to electoral misinformation in 2022.
Federal deputy Domingos Sávio (PL-MG), stated that Lula’s testimony is disconnected and spurious and that the act promoted by the president was a fiasco.
“The worst thing is for a president to call the country to a public event where, in a way, the left celebrates that Brazil once again has political prisoners,” he says, referring to those on January 8th.
