The Secretary of Education and Sports of Pernambuco delivered this Thursday (9) to the governor () his request for dismissal from office.
In the document, Schneider states that he wants to return to São Paulo, to be with his family, after six months in office.
“As I told you when you invited me, it would be very difficult for me to leave my family. Now, feeling that the secretariat’s projects have been unlocked, I feel it is time to return. There are values that are non-negotiable for me, personally and professionally” , it says.
and held the post of Secretary of Education for the city of São Paulo twice (2006-2012 and 2017-2019).
He states that, during his period leading the department in Pernambuco, school dropout and failure rates decreased.
“These six months were fruitful: the bidding process for daycare centers was opened, the state will once again distribute uniforms to students, we will have 18 more schools operating full time and 62 schools will go from 35-hour days to 45-hour days”, says the secretary resignation in the document.
He also wished success to the governor, who will have to choose a new name to manage the department.
In a note sent to the press, Raquel thanked the secretary for his commitment and effort during his role as head of the department.
“Schneider contributed to the advancement of the bidding for the daycare centers that we will start building very soon and in the transformation of new full-time schools, for example,” stated the governor.
Before Schneider, the secretariat was occupied by Ivaneide Dantas, who spent a year and a half in the position. According to what the government said at the time, he was also dismissed upon request.
