Soil law: Minister of Cohesion in an interview with SIC Notícias

SIC News Interview

The Deputy Minister of Territorial Cohesion, Castro Almeida, will be on SIC Notícias’ Jornal do Dia, to explain the new and controversial Soil Law, being debated in Parliament on January 24th.

The PS will let the Government’s so-called soil law pass, but argues that changes need to be made. The more left-wing parties consider that the diploma increases real estate speculation and want to prevent it in Parliament.

Already the PS parliamentary leader had already given the first signal by admitting that the socialists had no objection in principle. Still, they want to make changes. On the one hand, ensure that the price of future houses is lower than predicted by the executive and allow rustic land to be used for the construction of houses, as long as it is adjacent to urban land.

The debate will take place in Parliament on January 24th. When it approved the diploma, the Government avoided parliamentary discussion, and the President of the Republic, despite promulgating the law, called it a significant disruption.
