Musk and his partners were thinking about how to weaken the Labor Party government.
American billionaire and close ally of the newly elected US President Donald Trump, Elon Musk, held private talks about removing British Prime Minister Keir Starmer from office before the next parliamentary elections. This was reported by The Financial Times on Thursday, writes TASR according to Reuters.
According to the newspaper, Musk was considering how he and his partners could weaken the Labor Party government. He allegedly sought information on building support for alternative British political movements in order to force a change of government in the country.
Already in the past, on his social network X, the billionaire called on Starmer to resign because of his alleged inability to punish gangs that systematically raped children when he was the head of the British public prosecutor’s office from 2008 to 2013.
Musk did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment. “His view is that Western civilization itself is under threat,” The Financial Times quoted one person close to him as saying.
Musk openly supported the anti-immigration populist Alternative for Germany party
Last month, Musk openly supported the anti-immigration populist Alternative for Germany (AfD) party ahead of the election. His comments sparked accusations of interfering with German democracy.
On Thursday, Platform X will broadcast a live interview between Musk and AfD chairwoman Alice Weidel. Germany will hold early parliamentary elections on February 23, with the AfD in second place in opinion polls with around 19 percent of the vote.
