The Ukrainian digital newspaper has shared in a recent article a brief biography about Sergei Lavrov in which he highlights the most unknown details of the current Russian Foreign Minister. From his lovers to his real surname, through the origin of his fortune, the publication collects some of the biggest scandals of the Russian politician and diplomat.
Nicknamed as the “face of evil”Lavrov has been at the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry for nearly 20 years. However, despite his long stay in politics and on the public scene, there are some data that have not emerged in the same way, and that the newspaper now reveals.
One of them is his real last name, since the one he uses is not his real one. According to the aforementioned Ukrainian newspaper, “Kalantyran or Kalantarov” would be the “real surnames of Russia’s top diplomat.” The reason he would hide this would be his origin, as his father was a Georgian Armenian and “he realized that building a successful career in the xenophobic Soviet Union would be a major challenge with his father’s surname.” Therefore, he chose to use his mother’s or stepfather’s, which sounded more “ethnically Russian.”
The role of his lover
Another aspect that the newspaper reveals is the existence of an alleged lover, Svetlana Polyakova, who would play a key role in the life of the Russian diplomat, as journalists from Alexei Navalny’s Anti-Corruption Foundation warn. In fact, their bond would be such that it would even be considered Lavrov’s “de facto” wife in diplomatic circles.
Regarding her lifestyle, the politician’s lover enjoys an apartment of just over 260 square meters in the center of Moscow, a country house and a huge collection of luxury cars. In addition, he has a daughter who, at the age of 21, already has an apartment in London valued at about $5 million.
Who finances the politician?
Investigative journalists cited by The new Voice of Ukraine They link the politician with the billionaire Oleg Deripaska, who would supposedly help him financially in exchange for giving in to his interests. “Lavrov reportedly helped Deripaska obtain an American life and dismissed Western sanctions against Deripaska’s businesses as ‘Russophobia bordering on genocide,'” the outlet finally explains.
