Ukraine offers its citizens living abroad jobs in industrial enterprises, especially armories, in exchange for exemption from military service. According to the British station BBC, this was stated by the Minister of National Unity Oleksij Černyšov, who added that some Ukrainian industries now need specialists “like salt”. According to the BBC, the lack of manpower is mainly in the military-industrial sector, writes TASR.
Černyšov clarified that Kyiv plans to open centers similar to labor offices in Ukraine and abroadwhich will help Ukrainians in their search for job vacancies.
Chernyshov heads the new ministry, the establishment of which was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi on November 19. The new department is also in charge of matters related to the return of citizens. Previously, Černyšov held the post of Minister of Community and Territorial Development.
In an interview with Radio Sloboda (RFE/RL), Černyšov added that his department is starting to introduce a strategy of national unity and identitymultiple citizenship and a number of other measures that will make it possible to build a state where its citizens will return from abroad.
He stated that according to various estimates at present 32 million Ukrainians live in Ukraine. There are 25 to 30 million of them outside the countrywhile among them there are also persons who emigrated from Ukraine even before the war unleashed by Russia in 2022.
“We are a nation of 60 million people… we must create and offer such conditions for Ukrainians to return home, and those who remain abroad to continued to maintain contact with Ukraine and work for its benefit and its future,” explained the minister.
