2. Cucumber

If you are going to leave it in the refrigerator, agronomists recommend placing it in glass jars with lids or in plastic bags with a little air inside.

4. Potatoes (sweet, English)

Potatoes are a tuber rich in starch and high in carbohydrates. When it is raw, it must be kept out of the refrigerator, in an airy place, such as a fruit bowl, for example, so that it does not deteriorate or wilt. The starch present in it turns into sugar, giving it a sweet taste. Thus, being in the refrigerator, its flavor and texture also change.

Passion fruit, papaya, pineapple, banana are tropical fruits that should be kept away from the refrigerator because the cold interrupts the natural maturation process. They must be kept at room temperature to avoid compromising their texture and flavor.

6. Onions

Finally, according to experts, keeping onions in the refrigerator can lead to mold growth. The explanation is that the excess moisture in the onion provides the perfect environment for fungal spores to grow. They can cause vomiting, stomach cramps and diarrhea if consumed. The recommendation is to store in a cool, dark and dry place, such as a closet.
