Data released by the Intentional Violent Deaths Report (MVI), from the Acre Civil Police, indicates that the state had a 26.7% reduction in homicides in December 2024.
In the last month of the year, 11 homicides were recorded, while in November there were 15 violent deaths. The reduction also occurs when compared to December 2023, when the state had 21 homicides, representing a decrease of 8.33%.
The Baixo Acre region led in homicides, with six records in December, while Rio Branco maintained the highest number of occurrences among the cities, with six deaths, despite recording a drop of one case in relation to December 2023. The region of Juruá was the only one that did not record any homicides in December 2024.
The victims were exclusively men, the majority of whom were young people aged 19 to 29. Furthermore, attempted murders also fell significantly, with a reduction of 37.78% in the period, totaling 28, compared to 45 attempts in November.
The data is sent to the Ministry of Justice and the Public Prosecutor’s Office and can be adjusted according to the progress of the investigations, ensuring accuracy in the analysis of occurrences.
