Cultural January at Cineteatro Louletano with theater, music and cinema for all audiences

The month of January begins with the play “Zero.Ponto.Zero”, presented by Companhia de Atores, in a co-production between the Sou Quarteira movement and Cineteatro Louletano. The play, starring Cláudia Semedo and with text by Ana Lázaro, addresses school dropout and its consequences in the life of the protagonist, the Pioneira 0.0..

“Zero.Ponto.Zero” has a session for the general public, on January 10th, at 9pm, preceded by several sessions for schools, on January 8th and 10th, at 10:30am, and on the 9th, at 10am :30 and 2:30 pm.

GNR show celebrates 45 years of career

On January 11th, at 9pm, the iconic GNR will take the stage at Cineteatro Louletano to celebrate their 45 years of career. The concert will include classics such as “Asas”, “Pronúncia do Norte” and “Efetividade”. The show will feature Brazilian Sign Language for Deaf people.

Meeting of Charolas and Janeiras brings tradition to Loulé

The traditional Meeting of Charolas and Janeiras of Loulé takes place on January 12th, at 3 pm, promoted by AGAL – Associação Grupo dos Amigos de Loulé. The event brings together different groups to celebrate Christmas and New Year traditions.

French Cinema of the Month starts with “Marinette”

The French Cinema Cycle premieres on January 14th, at 9pm, at the Solar da Música Nova Auditorium with the film “Marinette”, promoted by Alliance Française. The session highlights the fight for women’s rights in sport. The films are subtitled in Portuguese.

Inclusive theater with “Who Cares for the Garden”

On January 17th, at 9:00 pm, the theater returns with the play “Quem Cuida do Jardim”, by the company Causas Comuns. The work is inspired by Voltaire and features Audio Description for blind people.

Before that, on the 15th, there will be a workshop with free entry from 6pm to 9pm, at Palácio Gama Lobo, guided by Cristina Carvalhal and Nuno Pinheiro (creator and assistant director, respectively). The same workshop will be repeated on the 16th, but aimed at students at Escola Secundária de Loulé.

Crescendo concerts return to Solar da Música Nova

The Crescendo Concerts return on January 18th, at 11:30 am, at the Solar da Música Nova Auditorium. Organized by the Loulé Music Conservatory – Francisco Rosado, these concerts are free to attend and bring classical music closer to the community.

Monstrare: Social Cinema in Loulé

Monstrare – Mostra Internacional de Cinema Social celebrates its 11th edition from January 18th to 25th, with screenings of national and international films that explore social issues. The event is part of Algarve Film Week and includes workshops and meetings from the film industry.

Children’s show “Tocas” at Cineteatro Louletano

On January 19th, at 10am and 11:30am, Cineteatro Louletano presents the play “Tocas”, by Companhia Caótica, aimed at children and families. A wordless show that explores the importance of home and affection.

Music with Maximum in the “Ilustres Desconhecidos” Cycle

Also on January 19th, but in the afternoon, the Solar da Música Nova Auditorium welcomes the pianist and composer Máximo, known for his fusion of musical styles. The musician presents his album “PANGEA”, inspired by social and environmental unity.

Rão Kyao Brings His Bamboo Flute to Loulé

The master of the bamboo flute, Rão Kyao, performs at Cineteatro Louletano on January 26th, at 5pm. The concert promises a musical journey through the East and Portugal, reflecting the artist’s versatility.

Contemporary dance with “A Pedra, a Mágoa”

On January 30th, at 9pm, the dance is highlighted with “A Pedra, a Mágoa”, created by Daniel Matos, by Cama Associação Cultural. The show reflects on the decomposition of quarries and the fragility of family relationships.

Algarve Orchestra concert closes the month at Cineteatro Louletano

The month ends with Orquestra do Algarve, conducted by Pablo Urbina, on January 31st, at 9pm, at Cineteatro Louletano. The repertoire includes works by Malcolm Arnold, Ruth Gipps and Franz Joseph Haydn, in a musical journey through British tradition.

With a reference program (which you can check on the Cineteatro website and social networks), CTL is accredited by the Network of Portuguese Theaters and Cineteatros, also integrating the Network of Theaters with Accessible Programming and providing shows with interpretation in Portuguese Sign Language for the Deaf (with a capital “S” they are speakers of Brazilian Sign Language) and others with Audio Description, for blind or visually impaired people.

CTL is a cultural structure in the field of performing arts, and one of the promoters of Rede Azul – Rede de Teatros do Algarve and Rede 5 Sentidos.
