The action is part of the celebrations for the corporation’s 77th anniversary and its main objective is to combat crimes such as drug trafficking, smuggling and embezzlement. In addition, the operation also focuses on monitoring traffic violations, such as driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to wear seat belts. During the operation, toll plazas will be places for vehicles that present irregularities to approach. Educational campaigns aimed at cyclists and pedestrians are also planned, aiming to increase safety on the roads.
The action counts on the collaboration of specialized units, including the Tactical Ostensivo Rodoviário (TOR) and the Police Special Actions Battalions (Baep). In the last twelve months, the actions of the Military Highway Police resulted in significant seizures. 106 tons of drugs were confiscated, in addition to 8.8 million packs of cigarettes. The operation also led to the seizure of R$2.1 million in money from illegal activities, 164 firearms and a considerable amount of simulacra. These actions resulted in 2,500 arrests in the act and the recapture of 890 individuals who were on the run.
