SHMÚ issues warnings: Snow tongues and drifts may form in several districts of Slovakia!

In several districts of Slovakia, on Friday evening, snow tongues and drifts should be expected. Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ) therefore issued a warning. It is provisionally valid until Monday (January 13) lunch. He informed about it on his website.

The first level of warning against snow tongues and drifts valid in all districts Žilina Region and several districts of Prešovské, Banskobystrické and Trenčianske Region. Also in the districts Ilava, Považská Bystrica, Prievidza and Púchov. “The formation of snow tongues represents a potential danger for traffic activities,” warned meteorologists.
