The Olhos de Água Municipal Market welcomed, on Tuesday morning, the choir from AIMA – Academia da Ciência Maior de Albufeira for the celebration of the traditional Cantar das Janeiras, marking the beginning of the new year with moments of great emotion and joy.
The event was attended by a diverse audience that filled the market, including children from a parish school and adults, including a delegation from Santa Casa da Misericórdia. The choir enchanted those present with typical Janeiras songs, creating a festive and warm atmosphere that set the tone for a year full of happiness and good times.
Indaleta Cabrita, president of , highlights this “special moment, where we saw many, many smiles from those present”.
The mayor also extends “a very special thank you to everyone who came to watch and took part in such a warm event”.
For the new year, Indaleta Cabrita hopes that “the spirit of unity and sharing demonstrated in this concert will accompany us”.
AIMA is a socio-educational response from the municipality of Albufeira, dedicated to promoting social, cultural, educational and social activities for people aged 50 and over. The association’s choir is one of the initiatives that integrates this commitment to the well-being and inclusion of the elderly population, providing moments of community sharing and celebration.
