On Friday, Russia accused Ukraine of a rocket attack on a supermarket in the Russian-controlled city of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine. At least two civilians were reportedly killed and two others were injured in the attack. TASR writes about it according to a Reuters report.

Russian investigators say Kiev used an M142 HIMARS rocket launcher

The state-run RIA news agency quoted Russian investigators as saying that Kiev appears to have used a US-supplied M142 HIMARS rocket launcher for the attack. Ukraine has not yet commented on the incident, and Reuters could not immediately confirm the report.

Unverified photos posted on social media showed a burnt car in front of a broken two-story building surrounded by debris. The driver of the car near the Moloko supermarket also released footage from his dashcam, which allegedly shows the moment of impact and the subsequent large explosion and flames.

Reuters was able to confirm the location from these images. They matched the satellite images and she verified the date based on the time stamp on the images. Russia’s TASS news agency said the attack also damaged other buildings and about 15 cars.

The governor of the Donetsk region, Denis Pushilin, accused Ukraine of the early morning attack on the Telegram platform. He added that the Ukrainian armed forces also hit a residential house in the city of Svitlodarsk, killing one woman and injuring four others.
