The Acre Court of Justice (TJAC) reached, during 2024, a never before recorded number of resolved and archived demands. Data accounting points to the drop of 91,669 cases during the period, a record for the Judiciary of the State of Acre.
The milestone achieved demonstrates an increase of 15%, compared to the year 2023, when 77,731 events were completed. If compared to the level recorded in 2022 (53,294 archived cases), the result reveals a growing increase of 58% in the total number of demands resolved in the last two years.
The result crowns the efforts undertaken by the Acre Justice Department during the year 2024, which resulted in the recognition of the productivity, efficiency and transparency of the TJAC, by the National Council of Justice, which awarded the state Judiciary Court the Gold Seal of the CNJ Quality Award.
In addition to the numbers – and mainly – the significant number of filed cases highlights TJAC’s commitment to the permanent search for faster judgment of demands with the adoption of new tools, systems, incorporation of good practices and strategic actions to increase performance levels of state Judiciary units and services made available to the population of Acre, while seeking to consolidate faster, more welcoming and accessible Justice, connected to technological innovations, including the use of Artificial Intelligence (IA).
“We were very happy with the results of the actions. 2024 was a victorious year for our Judiciary, for the Acre Court of Justice. We are grateful to all the work of the civil servants, judges and judges. With a lot of effort and together, we managed to climb our way towards an increasingly faster, more humane, more welcoming Justice, committed to efficiency and productivity. All these actions allowed us to achieve recognition from the National Council of Justice, with the Gold Seal in the CNJ Quality Award. And now this record number of filings, of cases resolved. This only confirms that we are in the right direction and that, with the same spirit of unity, we will reach a level of excellence in all our services”, commented the president of the TJAC, judge Regina Ferrari.
COGER: increase of almost 30 thousand demands
According to the report of the General Inspectorate of Justice (COGER), the First Degree of the Judiciary of Acre registered an increase of almost 30 thousand cases between 2023 and 2024, which corroborates the improvement in the resolution of cases presented to the Court. In 2023, there were 364,879 decisions while, in 2024, there were 393,369 decisions, thus demonstrating the significant increase.
The general inspector of Justice, judge Samoel Evangelista, who presented the data during the inauguration ceremony of the new substitute judges, held on the afternoon of Tuesday, 7th, highlighted that the TJAC has faced the difficulties and, thus, remained at the forefront ahead of other Courts in larger States, noting that the result occurs due to the commitment and dedication of magistrates and civil servants.
The magistrate judge highlighted that the summoning of replacement legal judges (ten sworn in in 2023) contributed greatly to the positive result, ensuring that citizens’ rights were respected and demands were met quickly.
Evangelista also highlighted that, of the first instance judicial units, only three do not have sitting judges: the 4th Civil Court of Rio Branco, the 1st Criminal Court of Cruzeiro do Sul and the Criminal Court of Brasiléia, due to the recent installation of the Court of Judge of Guarantees and the rise of magistrate Lois Arruda to the judge, last November.
“We also had competitions for civil servants, investments in training and IT, the number of courses and training given by Esjud had an exponential increase, construction and renovation of buildings, especially the Forums, recognition and discharge of rights and many other positive results. All of this had an impact on the progress made by the Judiciary of the State of Acre, with the achievement of several awards, including the Gold Seal of Quality from the National Council of Justice. The modernization of the system, in general, also facilitates access to Justice for the population, making it more transparent and accessible”, said the Inspector General of Justice.
In the context of the number of decisions made, the magistrate considers that procedural efficiency has been a priority for the Court, which always seeks to minimize bureaucratic obstacles and optimize the work of magistrates and civil servants.
“The commitment to transparency was also widely recognized in 2024. Transparency, in addition to contributing to public trust, is also a fundamental measure to ensure that Judiciary practices are always guided by integrity and respect for citizenship. Therefore, the Court of Justice of Acre, in addition to being an example of innovation, efficiency and transparency, has been committed to its mission of providing fast, effective and accessible Justice, meeting the needs of the population of Acre with increasing quality. TJAC continues to invest in innovative solutions, maintaining its commitment to agility in the judicial process and the continuous improvement of its services to its jurisdictions”, concluded the chief judge at COGER.
