The governor of the state of Acre, Gladson Cameli, made a point of personally inspecting, this Friday (10), the restoration work on the Joaquim Macedo footbridge, in the center of Rio Branco.
The site has been closed since the end of June 2024, following a process of erosion, intensified due to the sudden flood, followed by the drought of the Acre River.
In a video published on his social networks, the head of the State Executive congratulated the entire team involved in repairing the walkway.
“Hello, friends, we are here on our walkway visiting the restoration works. I congratulate the entire Government team, through Deracre, who are committed here, the people who are dedicating themselves here on a daily basis”, he said.
The Department of Roads and Highways, Waterway and Airport Infrastructure (Deracre) classified the site as a risk area for pedestrians, and has since adopted measures to contain the spread of erosion.
