The electric car is still a type of car not accessible to part of the population, however, over the years, this category has performed better in terms of sales numbers.
Until a few years ago, one cost around R$150,000. Today, for R$99,990, it is now possible to buy the E-Tech for the price of a compact SUV.
With electric cars, there are some advantages to using this type of car, such as lower cost, for example.
“The electric car is the only technology that does not have an exhaust. Then, zero pollution. It is a great benefit for the environment”, highlights the president of Brazilian Electric Vehicle Association (ABVE), Ricardo Bastos.
For Bastos, another advantage is the cost of maintaining the . “With regard to maintenance, it is from the point of view of quantity of parts, or even the non-use of some maintenance items, such as oils and lubricants”, he adds.
In addition to savings on maintenancesupply also has its advantages. The cost of electrical energy is normally lower than the cost of any of the fuels.
“An electric car can even be cheaper, even adding up the acquisition cost, not just the cost”, points out Bastos.
Another advantage of electric models is the silence on board. As it does not have a thermal engine, the only noises we hear are the air conditioning ventilation and also the rolling of the tires on the asphalt.
O instantaneous torque is also a point to highlight. When stepping on the accelerator pedal, electric models immediately deliver all available power.
The number of electric cars in 2024 was much higher than that recorded in 2023. In total number of registrations there were 61,615 units and 19,310, respectively.
Last year, electric vehicles were the second electrified category with the highest number of sales. BEV models closed the year with a 34.74% share.
