Total companies served since the creation of the Exporta SP program reached 1,150 and should approach 1,500 in 2025
Around 300 micro, small and medium-sized companies and rural producers were trained by the Government of São Paulo, in 2024, to export products and services. They participated in Exporta SP, a program run by the Secretariat of Economic Development and InvestSP, an investment promotion agency linked to the ministry, aimed at companies from any region of the State and from any sector. As a result, the total number of companies served since the creation of the program reached 1,150 and should approach 1,500 in 2025, with the opening of at least another 300 vacancies.
Lasting 4 months, the training is 100% online and free. During this period, 20 collective classes and 4 mentoring sessions are held, moments in which the entrepreneur has direct contact with a specialist to discuss specific needs and challenges of their business. Among the objectives of Exporta SP is to increase the competitiveness, revenue and security of small companies, which, when accessing the international market, begin to develop new skills and expand their sources of income.
“By investing in entrepreneurial training, we want to encourage small businesses to seek new markets and move the development lever that generates income and employment, a strong guideline from Governor Tarcísio de Freitas”says the Secretary of State Economic Development, Jorge Lima.
The president of , Rui Gomes, highlights that: “Small businesses are responsible for more than half of the jobs created in Brazil, in addition to representing almost half of exporting companies. Training, opening new markets and supporting these entrepreneurs is directly linked to InvestSP’s mission of generating development, employment and income in São Paulo”.
The training addresses the topics that most challenge businesspeople in the internationalization process, such as pricing, adequacy of products and services, commercial intelligence and marketing and sales plans. Participating companies also have support from experts for up to 2 years.
Companies interested in participating in the 1st class of Exporta SP of 2025 can now register on the InvestSP website.
Exporter’s savings
In November 2024, 42 companies newly trained by Exporta SP were able to participate in the Poupatempo do Exportador business round, an event held by SDE, with support from InvestSP, and which, for the first time, took place at the Secretariat’s headquarters, in the capital of São Paulo. .
Organized in partnership with the Brazilian Council of Importing and Exporting Commercial Companies, the business rounds brought together companies from various regions of the State and sectors such as food, construction, textiles, footwear and machinery and equipment. The result is a projection of R$7 million in business generation.
“Some are very small companies, which have just completed Exporta SP training and are already making their first international sales. It is a fundamental step for them to develop, gain competitiveness, diversify their revenues and generate more and more jobs and income in São Paulo”celebrates the Export Promotion manager at InvestSP and organizer of Poupatempo do Exportador, Elisabete Donato.
The total business generated thanks to Poupatempo do Exportador, however, is much higher. In just one day, the event brought together around 500 companies, including large companies. They had access to a program with 33 lectures and were able to make contact not only with potential customers and partners, but also with dozens of service providers linked to exports, such as credit lines, customs clearance, logistics, licensing, trademark registration, etc.
