In a survey obtained by Metropolises via the Access to Information Law (), none of the convictions involved generals, brigadiers and admirals.
During the same period, only one major general became a defendant in completed military criminal proceedings or criminal appeals, but he ended up acquitted. The survey refers to data updated by the STM until December 10, 2024.

Colonels and other ranks
Seventeen colonels form the highest rank to receive convictions, 15 from the Army and two from the Air Force.
The soldiers were found guilty of embezzlement, passive corruption, crimes under the bidding law, embezzlement, ill-treatment, false testimony or false expertise, violence against inferiors and insult.
In the Navy, the corresponding position is that of sea and war captain, but none with the equivalence had a trial resulting in conviction.
The Army had 17 lieutenant colonels convicted, and the Navy, 1 frigate captain. In 2024, one of the officers was found guilty of the crime of promoting prostitution or sexual exploitation of vulnerable people.
The survey does not show the names or the penalties, but in the same year the STM published the case of a lieutenant colonel who was sentenced to 10 years in prison for raping a child.

Rape, harassment and sexual harassment
In addition to the case of the pedophile lieutenant colonel, other soldiers were convicted of crimes involving rape, harassment and sexual harassment. An Army soldier and corporal were convicted of rape.
The cases of sexual harassment resulted in the conviction of a captain, two 2nd lieutenants, a corporal and an Army soldier, two FAB non-commissioned officers; and a sub-officer, a 1st lieutenant and a 2nd sergeant from the Brazilian Navy.
A captain and a 1st lieutenant from the FAB were also convicted of sexual harassment over the last seven years. From the Army, there were a corporal, a soldier, a 2nd sergeant and a 3rd sergeant. The Navy was not condemned.
