The president of , (-MG), said in a statement released this Wednesday (8), the two-year anniversary of the attacks on Praça dos Três Poderes, that it is necessary to highlight actions in defense of democracy.
“After two years of criminal attacks against the buildings of the Three Powers and our democracy, in , the country reaffirms, on this January 8th, fundamental precepts that forged our society. And the main one concerns freedoms”, declared Pacheco, who does not participate in the events at Palácio do Planalto because he is outside the country.
He stated at the demonstration that “there is no true, responsible and full freedom outside the democratic regime”. Pacheco also recalled the “Unshaken Democracy” act, which was held last year, on the first anniversary of the coup attacks.
The senator concluded the note by congratulating “the federal government and the institutions involved in the ceremonies that reinforce the vigil in defense of the regime that I consider to be the most fair and equitable in terms of popular and social representation.”
