Three emergency rooms will be closed on Saturday and four on Sunday

The obstetrics and gynecology emergencies at the Barreiro and Leiria hospitals and the pediatric emergency at the Beatriz Ângelo Hospital, in Loures, will be closed at the weekend, the SNS portal indicates this Friday.

The information on stopovers made available at 2:40 pm states that, on Saturday, 146 emergency services were open in mainland Portugal and that none are referenced for cases forwarded by INEM and the SNS 24 line.

On Saturday, the obstetrics and gynecology emergencies at Hospital Nossa Senhora do Rosário, in Barreiro, and Hospital de Santo André, in Leiria, will be closed, as will the pediatric emergency room at Hospital Beatriz Ângelo, in Loures.

These emergencies will continue to be closed on Sunday, in addition to the obstetrics and gynecology in Faro, Algarvethe day on which 144 emergency rooms will be operating normally across the country.

At the weekend, the SNS portal indicates that 16 obstetrics and gynecology emergencies are open, but as part of the pilot project that is taking place in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo and which requires users to contact the SNS24 line in advance. .

In this situation, there are Maternidade Alfredo da Costa and several hospitals, such as Garcia de Orta, Amadora-Sintra, Setúbal, Vila Franca de Xira, São Francisco Xavier, Beatriz Ângelo and Santa Maria, among others.

Regarding closed emergencies, the Minister of Health, Ana Paula Martins, defended this Friday that, through the portal, everyone has been able to identify emergencies with constraints and recalled that, of the 195 emergencies existing in the various types, only around eight felt embarrassment during the Christmas and end-of-year period.
