At least three people, including two motorcyclists, have died in Kenya after a plane, which made an emergency landing due to a technical problem, hit them on the coastal highway between Malindi and Mombasa.

“The flight was a standard training operation when the aircraft had a technical problem that forced an emergency landing. All three crew members survived and were rescued by emergency services,” said the Authority’s security director. Kenyan Airport Manager, George Otieno, according to the ‘Nation’ newspaper. He has also specified that the flight was “routine training” which normally operates from Malindi, in the southeast of Kenya. “It is not clear what went wrong, but his attempt to land back on the airport runway was unsuccessful,” he added.

According to a witness, “the plane veered off course and collided with motorcycles before exploding.” “A motorcyclist who tried to recover his motorcycle died instantly,” reported the aforementioned newspaper.
