ORF satirist Peter Klien came out of the holiday break with plenty of material and on Friday night took a comprehensive look at Austria’s versatile politics. A dramatic finding by the satirist about the ÖVP, who told FPÖ boss Herbert Kickl that it had to change. Klien formulates the motto for this as follows: “From the whore of the rich to the whore of the right”. The first-mentioned formulation comes from chats by Thomas Schmid, Sebastian Kurz’s former power manager in the ÖVP.
