The Olontense Center for Contemporary Art (CODAC), in Gibraleón, hosted this Friday, the 10th, the inauguration of the ArtExhibition 2024 exhibition, an event that brings together art and culture in a dialogue between generations and cultural contexts. “With more than 400 visitors at the opening”, the exhibition is the result of a collaboration between the NAFA Association and the International ArtExhibition Association, curated by João Ribeiro, reads the statement.
The main exhibition presents a selection of works that celebrate artistic diversity and promote cultural exchange. Additionally, visitors have the opportunity to explore two complementary exhibitions that enrich the experience: Just’Artorganized by the Porto Court of Appeal, and “An Exhibition to My Own”an artistic perspective developed by students at Colégio Aurora Moreno, with a pedagogical and inclusive focus.
At the opening ceremony, João Ribeiro highlighted the essential contribution of several entities and personalities who made the event possible. In particular, he thanked the Gibraleón City Councilwith special mention of the alcaldesa Lurdes Palancoto councilor of culture Helenaand the director Cay Landeroas well as a personal thank you to my friend Mateo.
Decisive institutional support
The partnership between different institutions was highlighted during the ceremony. THE Tavira City Council was recognized for her support, represented by the president Ana Paula Martinsby the vice president Eurico Palmaand by the director of cultural services Cristina Neto. The curator made a point of highlighting the fundamental role of these entities in the success of the event.
A special mention was dedicated to Porto Court of Appealwhose president, José Igreja Matoswas praised for his contribution to the exhibition Just’Art. This initiative explores the relationship between art and justice, creating a symbolic bridge between these two areas.
Recognition to organizers
Other entities were also highlighted, such as o Aurora Moreno Collegeand so on ArtExhibition International Associationled by Pepe Ramirez and its board of directors. These organizations played a central role in holding the event, ensuring the diversity and quality of the works presented, reads the note.

A ArtExhibition 2024 will be patent no CODAC in the coming weeks, providing audiences with a unique opportunity to explore creativity and artistic innovation. This event reinforces CODAC’s role as a reference cultural space in the region, capable of bringing together artists, institutions and the public around art.
