A serious accident was recorded this Sunday morning (12), on BR-277, in Guarapuava, in the central region of Paraná. Three vehicles crashed at km 328, close to the Rio das Pedras bridge. The head-on collision resulted in one person being killed and six injured.
According to information from the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the accident happened around 7am and involved a T-Cross, a BMW and a Saveiro. The BMW, which was heading in a decreasing direction (Cascavel/Guarapuava), invaded the opposite lane and caused a head-on collision with the T-Cross and also with the Saveiro. The section of the accident is a single lane.
The victim who did not resist was a 65-year-old woman, who was in the passenger seat of the T-Cross. Three other passengers in the vehicle were injured and were taken to the Batel Emergency Care Unit, in Guarapuava. The driver of the T-Cross was unharmed.

Only the 56-year-old driver was in the Saveiro, who had minor injuries and was taken for treatment. In the BMW, the 47-year-old driver was also alone and suffered minor injuries. However, the breathalyzer test showed the driver had been drinking alcohol.
There was a partial closure of the highway, with the flow of vehicles using the STOP and SIGA system, to carry out forensic examinations and remove the vehicles involved in the accident. BR-277 was fully reopened at 10:30 am, around four hours after the accident.
